Specialist Gastroenterologist
Dr Yanna Ko is an accredited Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist and is a gastroenterologist based in Sydney. She graduated medical school with first class Honours from the University of NSW. She completed her advanced Gastroenterology training at Concord Repatriation General Hospital and Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, NSW. She has been awarded multiple research awards including the prestigious NHMRC scholarship for her research into multiple areas in Gastroenterology.

Expertise
Dr Ko is a caring and compassionate physician, committed to providing excellent personalised care to her patients. She manages all aspects of gastrointestinal and liver disorders, including reflux, constipation, diarrhoea, bowel cancer surveillance and iron deficiency anaemia. Her subspecialty interest is functional gut disorders including irritable bowel syndrome and chronic constipation. She has multiple publications in peer reviewed Gastroenterology journals from her research in various gastrointestinal disorders including irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease.

Appointments
Dr Ko has been awarded accreditation for gastroscopy and colonoscopy by the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. She performs polypectomy, bowel cancer surveillance and haemorrhoid therapy at Macquarie University Hospital, Central Sydney Private Hospital, Campbelltown Private Hospital and Canterbury Hospital (where she can see public patients).

Dr Ko is multilingual and can speak both Cantonese and Mandarin.

In her spare time Yanna loves exploring new places, fishing, watching cooking shows and spending time with her family.

She has recently had her second child and will be on maternity leave until early 2024.
