Specialist Colorectal & General Surgeon
Dr Reece completed her medical degree at The University of Sydney and underwent General Surgical training at Royal Prince Alfred and Concord Hospitals, obtaining FRACS in 2019. She completed CSSANZ Colorectal Fellowship Training at the Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide and at Concord Hospital.

Expertise
Dr Reece is a highly qualified Colorectal and General Surgeon who provides compassionate and patient-centred surgical care. She prides herself on her kind bedside manner and high-level communication skills and takes the time to educate her patients so they understand their condition and treatment options. She cares for patients with colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, proctological conditions (haemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas, anal pain), gall bladder disease and hernias. She is accredited with the Gastroenterological Society of Australia for gastroscopy and colonoscopy and has an above average polyp detection rate. Dr Reece specialises in minimally invasive (laparoscopic) colorectal surgery. She is currently completing a Fellowship in Robotic Surgery at the Sydney Adventist Hospital.

Appointments
Dr Reece is a VMO Colorectal Surgeon at Concord Hospital, where she provides emergency and elective care for public and private patients and can see public patients in the Colorectal Outpatients.
Dr Reece is a Colorectal and General Surgeon at Macquarie University Hospital and on the Central Coast (Gosford Private and Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospitals).
Dr Reece offers Robotic Surgery with her team at the Sydney Adventist Hospital and will offer robotics in further locations from 2024.
Dr Reece loves to teach and is a clinical senior lecturer at the University of Sydney.

Meet Dr Reece
Mifanwy (pronounced “Miff-anne-wee”) lives with her surgeon partner and their two children. She plays soccer and enjoys skiing, mountain biking and yoga. She loves spending time with her family and always has a novel on the go.
