Specialist Gastroenterologist
Dr Anandabaskaran is a specialist committed to providing personable and compassionate care in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He grew up in New Zealand and completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Auckland. Subsequently, he moved to Sydney and underwent his Gastroenterology training at St Vincent’s Hospital and Liverpool Hospital.

Expertise
Dr Anandabaskaran’s clinical practice encompasses all aspects of gastroenterology and liver disease. He has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and has recently completed a two-year IBD clinical and research fellowship at St Mark’s Specialist Bowel Hospital, London. He is currently completing his PhD at the University of New South Wales where he is focusing on improving treatments for Perianal Crohn’s Disease. He has received the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO) Fellowship Award, Avant Doctor-In-Training Scholarship Grant, and The British Research Council Grant.

Appointments
Dr Anandabaskaran is a staff specialist at St Vincent’s Public Hospital where he undertakes regular endoscopy lists and contributes to IBD clinics. He is also affiliated with Macquarie University Hospital for endoscopy lists. He is accredited for gastroscopy and colonoscopy by the Conjoint Committee for Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (CCRTGE) with above-average polyp detection rate and can provide high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
